The scooter express!
We are very fortunate here at the shop to have the Post Office right around the corner. Not only is it housed in a wonderful old building, but the people - yes real people, at the window are always cheerful and helpful! We actually look forward to taking our website orders to the post office each day.We were able to use the old post office boxes (still in use), don't ask me my combination, my lips are sealed, as a backdrop for one of our quilts for one of our pattern covers, and there isn't a day that goes by (well except Sundays) that we don't trot around the corner to USPS for one reason or another. The building the Post Office is in has been around for a while - a photo from the Tacoma Public Library archives shows the building as it was in 1918. However, I digress...
The point of my whole little story here is that we occasionally have visitors at our house who LOVE taking packages to the Port Gamble Post Office. )OK....some of the attraction might be the candy jar that sits in the service window). Just in case you are someone who has ordered online from us, if your timing has been just right, your package may have been taken to the Post Office by tricycle or by small feet stepping over each and every crack in the sidewalk between here and there, or most recently via the new scooters powered by sparkly shoes!
