John Henry Dearle (and William Morris)
Barbara Brackman's A Morris Tapestry has arrived in the shop. These are just luscious...and we have them all.These designs are by William Morris and John Henry Dearle. Can't help but appreciate the story of Dearle's rise from a shop assistant to major designer - just too bad he didn't get a little more credit along the way. A few of the bolts are pictured below.
Am still working on a sample for the little quilt kits from Clothworks fabrics. I now have houses and sashing strips....progress!
Vicki brought in these cute little bags today.....they really are the cutest bags ever! These are her own design and a made from just three fat quarters. She is going to teach a class at the shop, and I will do my best to convince her she needs to write up a pattern for the rest of us.
